Teen Volunteer Training
Session I - Tuesday, 6/12/2012 and Thursday, 6/14/2012, 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Session II - Wednesday, 6/13/2012, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
A Woman's Place*
Corner of Rt 611 and Almshouse Rd
Doylestown, PA
Open to 13 -18 year old Bucks County students. Training prepares students to support A Woman's Place (AWP) by providing administrative assistance, working with kids in our shelter, helping at Full Circle Thrift store, and joining our Young Adult Advisory Board (YAAB). During this 6-hr training, participants will learn the basics of dating violence awareness as well as discuss the impact of domestic abuse on kids and families. Pre-registration is required. Orientation (Adult Volunteers)

Open to prospective volunteers ages 18 and up. Orientation provides a general overview of A Woman's Place (AWP) including the services available to the community, how volunteers help to support those services, and how to move forward with volunteer work at AWP. Orientation is mandatory for all incoming volunteers prior to additional training. Pre-registration is required. CORE Training (Adult Volunteers)
Session I - Tuesday, 7/10/2012 AND Thursday, 7/12/2012, 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Session II - Monday, 7/16/2012, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (with lunch)

After attending Orientation, volunteers may sign up for this 6-hr training, which provides a brief history of the domestic violence movement, a look into how A Woman's Place (AWP) fits into that history, and a quick introduction to the issue of dating and domestic abuse.  CORE Training provides the tools necessary to support AWP indirectly (e.g., by providing administrative assistance, working at Full Circle Thrift store, or joining our Development and Fundraising team) and is mandatory for all volunteers who wish to advance to Direct Service Training in order to work directly with AWP clients. Direct Service Training (Adult Volunteers)
Tuesday, 7/17/2012 through Friday, 7/27/2012, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

After attending Orientation and CORE Training, volunteers may be eligible for our 48-hr Direct Service Training in order to become certified Domestic Violence Advocates. Must be able to commit to at least 8 out of the 9 training dates. Space is limited and pre-registration is required.
